Mr Lew Syn Pau, 56, has served as an independent director since 15 April 1999. He is the Chairman of Stanbridge International Pte Ltd and Director of Capital Connections Pte Ltd.

He was formerly the Managing Director of NTUC Comfort, Executive Director of NTUC Fairprice, Assistant Secretary-General of the NTUC and General Manager and Senior Country Officer of Banque Indosuez.

A Singapore Government scholar, he has a Masters in Engineering degree from Cambridge University, UK (1977) and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Stanford University, USA (1984).

Mr Lew currently sits on the Boards of other public listed companies such as Achieva Ltd, Food Empire Holding Ltd, Golden Agri-Resources Ltd, Lafe Corporation Ltd, RSH Ltd, among others. He has been a director of many other listed companies and statutory boards, including Singapore Telecommunications Ltd and Jurong Town Corporation. He was a Member of Parliament from 1988 to 2001 and President of the Singapore Manufacturer’s Federation from 2002 to 2006.
